A place in its own league

It started with one man, and a fairly simple idea. The Croatian coast was already magnificent — the kind of place people talk about the moment they come home. He didn't want to fix that. He wanted to add one thing the coast didn't yet have: a city like no other anywhere.

Not a copy of Monte Carlo or Dubai. Not a place that shuts in October and waits for the season to come back. Somewhere that works all 360 days of the year. The winters here are mild — warmer than most of Europe — and the sunsets are the sort you stop talking mid-sentence for.

Turning that idea into something real took twenty years. One field, one olive grove, one stubborn plot at a time, bought from more than 1,200 separate owners. It was slow, unglamorous work, and most people who heard about it assumed it would never happen.

The land is bought. The drawings are done. The first machines are on the ground. What's left is the part you can actually watch being built.
